FINALLY I'm released from the iron grip which is The Exams. And I'm sure many of you are too!
But for those who are not...
O Level people, we are keeping you guys in prayer! Even Alex is on Skype! Which is so totally cool.
Yeah soho,
just do your best, anyways in less than a month's time it'll ALL BE OVER. HOW AWESOME AND SURREAL IS THAT.
and i'm going to be in captivity next year! Yay me!
actually i have chinese o levels coming up in november but my mother is more concerned about that than me.
Anyway, I realise I'm pretty much blogging to a dead community? I mean, nobody cares about this space. Readership is worse than my blog, and thats... quite bad if I do say so myself.
But oh well, in the hopes that someone will saunter along and want to know more from these pictures taken from mah superb cammy
and to that, i say: We are Golden!
In lieu of super promotional and advertising skills displayed by our very own homegrown tween stars Tabby and Debbie,
Please come to the Bethel Youth Camp this year end.
I'm serious, not just cause i'm in the comm lah. There's laser tag, and an outdoor barbeque methinks. And the opportunity of night, with the free doorgift of freedom.
So signup plz! Hope I'll be photographer. Hope they're willing to accept a n00b. ^__^
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength>
Monday, October 5, 2009 @ 4:19 PM
I was too afraid to share this, for two weeks now
Had my finger on the page the entire sharing but I couldn't because I was afraid
And now I'll share this when no one will read it but the lone possibility of a lone passerby
Even so, it is good enough
If only, a matter of days, a matter of days.

The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint. -Isaiah 40:28-31

I pray that we will be disciplined, and study hard to the best of our abilities, so that though difficult papers may come, we shall be undaunted and know that we shall pen these answers with no regrets. This is of course difficult to fulfil - but like Alvin once said, wisdom comes not from us, but from Him, and from Him we shall seek our strength and wisdom.
So do not give up!
The end (of these long and dreary days) draws near.
And those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
And inshallah, we will do well.
Have a good day
Wake Me Up. It's September!>

Alex trying... to be symmetrical. :)

That series of art was purely to sate egoistic desires. Since I can't possibly post a video of his notorious singing, Youtube bans such things!
Anyway, Alex will be leaving tomorrow -insert sad face- )))))))))))))))): for UK. So everyone, please pray for him! And of course, miss him.
My baby he don't act like himself no more
He lost that smile I use to adore
He spend his nights slapping his veins
He lost that glow he used to have on his face
The poppy took my baby away from me
The poppy took my baby away from me
PS., listen to Zee Avi! she's really good. :D

Patience>
Friday, August 14, 2009 @ 11:47 PM
I think there are some days that don't go as perfect as we would like them to be. I think some days, especially, dawn to prey on your weaknesses. One weakness of mine would be patience. I need to learn to be more sincere and understanding - a virtue that takes months, maybe years, to cultivate. Some people are just naturally patient. But it's a good thing that God knows not everyone are angels, and have several Bible verses to keep us on the right track.
James 5:7-8
Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord's coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near.
&
Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
I do hope to remember these in future days that try and test me again, and face my weaknesses with a solid strength.
About time I posted>

Hi, this is Kenneth and firstly I would like to thank Megan for doing such a great job in reviving the blog! This blog has been given a fresh new look thanks to Megan but to keep the blog going, we need more people posting here, not just the Youth comm but also from the Youth. Hopefully we can sort this out in our next Youth comm meeting on 10 August, Monday at Uncle Shee Keong's House!

Next, I would like to share a particular blog post on another blog of which I am contributing to, the Saint's Choir which is my school's choir. Recently, we celebrated our teacher's birthday. As always, the executive commitee of the choir, of which I am part of, planned the whole event and the purchase of the birthday cake and present. Each of the choir members are expected to pay a certain amount to cover the costs. Now, the blog post.

"As you all know, you have been asked to pay $2 each for the cost of the cake, present and birthday card that the seniors and Exco paid in advanced for you. Although the total cost is around $70, which means each of you has to pay only $1.50, I joked that you should be paying $2 so the rest of the money can go into the Exco's pockets. Apparently, someone took this seriously and posted that last post. And for that, I apologise, please bring $1.50 on Monday. But what really got me thinking was that the Singapore's ministers are the highest paid in the world and yet they find it acceptable and reasonable.

In case you don't already know, Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong earns $3.8 million a year, 6 times the salary of US President Barack Obama. MM Lee Kuan Yew gave a few reasons for the high salaries-
- to prevent corruption
- talent is rare in Singapore
- because the ministers can earn a much higher salary should their jobs be something else.

I reasoned with my mother during Dinner on why we, the choir's Exco, should be paid, using the similar argumentative points below.
- to prevent corruption and motivate us into better serving the choir
- because talent is rare in the choir and we are the few talented ones
- because if we're not serving the choir, we can have a much more carefree life and more time to do what we want, rather than dedicating that time to Exco meetings, etc...

And for the first time, she seemed to be very wise and intellectual on this type of topic. She pointed out that by paying ourselves money instead of serving the choir voluntarily, we are already corrupted. If we are paid, our main focus is just for the money and not for serving the choir. We should lead the choir for the sake of serving the choir, and not for the money. Basically, serving the choir is an Honour, not a Privilege. That is why its called Serving, not being served. That is why Jesus washed his Disciples feet(John 3:13-20) out of love, and thus referred to as the Servant King. That is why the most important commandment is to Love thy neighbour as thyself. And the same should be applied to governments in the world, as their duty is to serve, not just for the money, but for the people.

The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the slaves
and recovery of sight for the blind, and
to release the oppressed.

Luke 4:18"

I would like to say that I am honoured to be part of the Youth comm, as I have learnt lots of stuff and ideas to be implemented in the choir, such as the system in which each Youth comm member are assigned to a group, so that the mentors only need to sms the Youth comm members, and they sms their own groups.

Lastly, regarding the meeting at Uncle Shee Keong's house. I know some of us (myself) do not know the way to his house. Can we all agree to meet at Braddell Mrt on Monday and go together as a group? Thanks.

Can you believe it? My own blog is dead and I choose to blog here. Haha. Ohwell,
have been doing a little musing since Sunday! Okay, not a lot lah. But, what do you think your gift is?
I'm not really sure about mine! I think not many people can be reaaaaaaally definite though. For me, I've found that I've developed a deep interest in performing and creative arts. Though I'm not really good yet! still studying Drama and waiting for mentorship results hee hee (crosses fingers tightly), I've a lot to learn and so much to consider. I write sometimes too (ask to read only if you are desperately bored and out of your mind! Haha) but yeah. How can I put these things I like to do to good use for God's ministry? That's the real question. Hmm!
Well for now, I thank God I managed to get through this 3-tests-in-a-single-day week. And there are none next week! And answering my prayers, in weird ways though. Remember when Pastor Jimmy preached about God answering prayers in ways you don't want to hear (that are possibly worse than the situation you are stuck in?) I was praying for fever all week so I wouldn't have to suffer the dreaded test. And the fever almost came TODAY,at the end of the week.
!
Maybe its a morally upright lesson I'm having to learn.
:D

Harry Potter>
Saturday, July 18, 2009 @ 9:55 AM

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is already open in cinemas!! I'm so psyched. Are you? Unless, of course, you're one of the LUCKY people who HAVE watched it already. Is Emma pretty? Is the movie a real Thriller? Is Draco Malfoy the COOLEST WIZARD THAT EVER LIVED? Yes to that one though I haven't even seen it yet. :D

Anyway, there's more to the Potter series than simply witchcraft and wizardry. Underneath the sorcery, amidst valiant cries of "Wingardium Leviosa!" and rebukes of "It's levioooooo-sa, not levio-sa." we are actually left thinking with some very important questions, and life lessons. Take the Chamber of Secrets for example. (I was watching it on TV, and discussed it excitedly with Anne Mak the next day :) Gilderoy was unabashedly boasting about himself "_ times winner of Witch Weekly's best smile award" and what not, but when it came to the part before the Chamber was revealed, we all realised it was simply a facade, and he was in fact a coward who took other people's discoveries to his own credit. He of course, received his due serving of justice and had his memory erased when Ron's wand backfired. On the other hand, Harry bravely went into the Chamber, and faced a 16-year old Voldemort for the sake of saving his friend, when it was not his duty to do so. This is the power of true friendship, bravery and courage I tell you. You CANNOT find this anywhere in real life. And after the entire ordeal, when Harry is still feeling doubtful about his identity - did having certain similarities like Voldemort make him ultimately evil too? Dumbledore sagely says: "It is not our abilities, but our choices, that make us who we are." I was just "WOW" at that point. We really can learn great things from such great fictional characters.

And none is more great than the greatest Draco Malfoy (played by the awesomely talented Tom Felton) :D :D :D

So of course, hope you watch the movie soon. And learn more curses (Avada Kedevra! but it's bad, don't use it.) and of course, life lessons.

Long live the Harry Potter Legacy!

Here on another (futile) quest to spice up our YOUTH BLOG!
Our lovely guest speaker, informing us about the Childrens Ministry and why they're so essential to Him and his Kingdom in Heaven.
Woohoo!
Peace.

The delicious mango/peach cake (can't tell) by Auntie Doris. Yum yum.

Birthday babies, from left: Ian, Joseph Chai, Keefe, Tabigail, Clara, Jing Yi, (Imaginary Kester)
"Ooh. How come there's such a big cake.... but only 1 candle?"

"Dum de dum de dum. Minions singing songs for us on our special day. Mmm. Plus, a professional videoguy. Cool!"

Our ever (in)famous, Uncle Shee Keong.

Okay. Finally all the pics managed to load haha. Well do keep checking back okay, hope we'll have more events coming up. Next week will be UNCLE PUI CHUNG speaking I think. With my trusty camera, I hope we shall capture more memories and not forget them and our precious time in Youth. :)
Also, if I have time I will work on a new blogskin for us. Must be original know!
And if you would like to post well wishes to Pastor Jimmy before he departs for greener pastures (just kidding), you can email me at windofthenight@hotmail.com and I'll post it on this blog or perhaps compile it for you guys.
Congratulations to Keefe for accomplishing Chinese Oral today. (Ti mu sucked right???) And me for flunking it. Ultra-yay! Jiayou to the people taking major exams, whatever tests this year. Keep gunning for anything that glitters cause its gold ~~
Hee kidding. Just do your best and God will do the rest.
Peace out, have a rockin' July,

Since I'm so bored, I'm here to blog! :)
Thanks for giving me such a warm welcome when I first came back from my June escapades, guys. I hope I didn't ruin your beautiful singing too much - I barely practised! But it was a beautiful song :D
Okay I'm here to remind you all to GET UP, GET OUT, and have fun once in a while.
Sounds difficult,
but it'll actually set you FREE a lot of the time.
You'll end up learning much more than when you're caged in a stuffy classroom.
Destroying the peace, but oh well :D
I haven't been praying and doing quiet time. ): This is bad. I should start soon, right?
Hmm I think we should all hang out somewhere, sometime Sunday. What do you think?
Anyway, these are some pictures I took whilst in London.
The point is not to make you jealous, haha. It's good to have a fresh bit of perspective despite being stuck in sunny-stuffy-Singapore!

CHEERS <3
God provides>
Friday, April 24, 2009 @ 11:24 PM
Hi all, this is Kenneth (Lin) here. Before talking about what I do, I'm going to talk about how God provided for me for the past few days.

Last Thursday was my choir's SYF(Singapore Youth Festival). But before that, let me give you an idea of what the choir is like during practices. The choir was ill-disciplined, not focused, playful and most of all, Inconsistent. They sounded good on some days and horrible on the rest.

On the day of the SYF, I prayed that firstly, the choir would get what they deserved. Secondly, I prayed that we would not let the school down and get at least a silver for the school to get a Sustained Acheivement Award(an award presented to schools whose CCAs sustained at least a silver for 2 consecutive years). Lastly, I asked for the Judges to be Fair.

The end result? We got a silver. It was fair as many minor details were not sung. The choir also deserved it as we were inconsistent and the choir had to learn from their mistakes from this. The choir also didn't let the school down by getting at least a silver.

God is Faithful.

Another incident was during post-SYF. It was a fellow choir member's birthday and everyone had cake. I was among the last to take the cake but realised there wasnt enough for everybody, so I gave my piece to my friend. After that, when it was time to go home, I packed my bag and found a muffin. Actually, I had forgotten that my mother gave it to me in the morning and stuffed it in my bag until then. This is another example of how God provides, no matter how big or small!

Oh yea, I help set up the computers and projectors every sunday.
miracles>
Wednesday, April 22, 2009 @ 10:54 PM
Howdy, Megggggggg here
Well! I kinda experienced miracles today :D God's blessings.
See, there was this thing I really wanted to get into. But the chances were like 1/9999999999999 ! And I didn't know if I should try. But I did in the end, though I doubted (and still do) myself, and He's really blessed me with this opportunity :D So yeah!
Plus there was this biology test which I thought I would flunk but I passed well so yep. And more happy incidents that make me do the Chandler dance. But anyway,
yes I'm here (not dragged, in case you're falling off the tip of your chair betting that I was) to share about my duties as a secretary haha.
Well I'm basically in charge of all the admin stuff like the birthday cards and the youth particulars, the delegating of the baking of birthday cakes each month (what a mouthful) (what a pun), writing the minutes during committee meetings and such. So you probably won't see me actually doing much in church, I do most of it at home :)
Serving in the youth committee has enabled me to serve God more actively, and with more meaning. I also get to work with you (ths) sometimes, though I'm still rather reserved haha.
So I have to sleep now
:o

Tuesday, April 21, 2009 @ 2:01 PM
Ok. Now i know why it's called a dead blog.. Anyway, if anyone is reading this... Tagg!!! Make this blog alive again! Ok. Moving on, maybe i'll share a bit about what our youth committee does. For those peopole who think we're a bunch of nominated slackers.. We aren't! I'll start with myself. In the committee, i am in charge of... sound:) seems so fun, doesn't it.. But anyway, what i feel is that when you serve in a church, it isn't always about the fun. But instead, it feels more like helping your mom sweep the floor, or washing your dad's car. Over the years, the fun has shifted from learning about how to manage sound, to ensuring that the sound is perfect for God. Anyways, thats all i have to say. I'll try to drag the rest of the committee to talk more about themselves!

And YES! Church camp is here!! So do sign up! It's gonna be awesome so tell your parents to sign up ASAP!! Hope to see our ever youthful youths there!
A Little Sharing To Those Who Visits>
Friday, March 13, 2009 @ 1:20 PM
Hello one and all.
Annaliza here.
So obviously this blog is sorta dead.
I'm here to save it!

Anyways, church camp is coming up.
And I hope that most of you guys are going.
It'll be fun.

It's Fun Week tomorrow.
Heard that you guys are going to Kester/Preston's Condo Function Room.
Watching movie and playing games.
A time of fellowship, bond!
Hope ya'll will have fun.

Easter Evangelistic Tea Party
Date: 12 April (Sunday)
Venue: Church
Time: After main sanctuary service

Do invite your friends.
Uncle Shee Koeng might be sharing his wonderful EGG-citing jokes.
I know, can't wait right?!

So the one week holiday is here.
How are you gonna spend it?!
Hope you'll get enough rest and a little bit of fun during this week.
However do not forget about God.

We must not waste our limited time by chasing after things which vanish; "Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity" (Ephesians 5:15-16). We must evaluate ALL our decisions and goals based on the overriding desire to glorify God in all we do, to rejoice in His many blessings, and to long for the time when we can worship before His throne for all eternity. Any other set of values must fade to nothing in comparison.

Every day we are handed a block of time and given the freedom of how it will be spent. This is a wonderful opportunity, but the clock continues to tick! Let's honor our Heavenly Father with our goals and plans and give careful thought to our ways.

-Extracted from God's Daily Word

Hope this helps you.

Love, Annaliza.

WIN BEN & JERRYS ICE CREAM>
Thursday, January 8, 2009 @ 8:16 PM
Hey camelz

Theres a competition regarding our youth name. The Chinese side is Bethel SHINE fellowship, and the young adults are STEM, as in stem-cell. So, we must have a name too. The contest is optional.
BUT the winning entry wins a $20 BEN & JERRY'S voucher from uncle Shee Keong. The more thought out and well described your entry, the better chance you got. Things you might want to include are why the name was chosen, if its an acronym or has any important meeting.

God bless
Tim

Friday, October 17, 2008 @ 9:47 PM

Hello everyone.
Anna here!

Well, I have something to share.
This morning when I woke up.
Just like any other day.
Was about to leave home, for church.
So I went to check on my hamster, Pinky Promise.
And...
I found out that she's dead.
Just last night, she was still alive, running around.
But suddenly, she just you know.
I have been crying ever since I left the house.
And just then, I was crying badly.
And James saw my MSN nickname.
So he started talking to me and stuff.
He encouraged me to watch the video.
Which i didn't, when he asked me to post it up a few days ago.
So I just watched it.
And wow.
Really.
I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE ALL OF YOU TO WATCH IT! (:
Well I am feeling much much better now.
And there is peace in my heart.
Thank God!
Praise God (:
Run to Him (:

Love: anna.
A little sharing.>

Blog is dying.>

Rahhhh, the blog is dying.
So updates.

We are currently doing the series on Daniel.
Which I think is interesting & I encourage all of you to read it (:
Something that we should be proud of.
Timothy!
During the talk from Dr Gordon Wong at the 4th floor mini chapel.
Mr Timothy was so brave to ask a question.
So proud of him.
(:
This is an encouragement to everyone to not be shy to ask questions.

And this Sunday, youth would be combined with the adults.
Dr Gordon Wong is coming again!
Do go.
It's easy to understand.

EVERYONE should be having EOYs (End Of Years) Examination now.
Besides the O level-ers.
Press on!
Have faith.
Study hard.
Pray for one another!

And for the O level-ers.
(Which includes me)
Don't panic.
Press on.
Have faith.
Pray!
(:

Just like nick's sharing,
"Here's a really useful tip for coping with the exams: PRAY!!"
And i majorly agree.

CANT WAIT TILL AFTER O's.
Im going to have fun in the sun.
And I hope all of you would too.

Well gotta go.
TTFN.

And you say I'm clumsy............>
Monday, September 15, 2008 @ 7:51 PM
You think I'm clumsy? Here are some examples of the crap that happens to people in my class.
Shoot yourself in the eye with a rubber band. 5 TIMES IN AN HOUR
Run across the class, crash into a table leg. THE LEG BENT 45 DEGREES
2 guys sat on a mini table. IT BROKE
My personal favourite : My friend took a piece of plastic and covered his eyes. then he stucck his head out the window. THE WINDOW SWUNG DOWN AND HIT HIM. IN SHOCK HE FLINCHED AND HIT HIS FOREHEAD ON THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDOW.
Based on this, am I really clumsy? Yea, but not in school.....

I found some old fun week videos.
2007.
How cool is that.
I think it was at marina bay or something?
We had worship at the carpark.
(I've got peace like a river.)
Super hilarious.
You just have to look closely at who gives up or does silly things.
The talking part is hilarious too.
Oh ignore the terrible 'background' singing.
Wonder who??!
THREE VIDEOS.
ALL FUNNY!
Its funny that after a year or so...
Some just still cant do it. (:

That's all.
Hope you guys enjoyed a little laugh at the past (:
The funny thing is.
Rae and hannah are leading.
AND its the same song.
(:
Hilarious.

Serioulsy, if you feel like you can't take it, pray and you'll suddenly feel less stressed and more confident.. And when you pray, you have to MEAN IT!! Yea.. or it won't work.. heheh.. thats all i've got to share for my first post.. hope its okay...

as (not) many of you know, i am (probably) sure,
i'm a debater :D
and proud to be one, yes, but i'm not a very good one yet. haha.

anyway, today during CCA, we talked about a new topic. about stem cell research. and i decided to find out more about cloning.

i'm sure all of you know Dolly, the first sheep/animal to be cloned, ever. do you think it's wrong to clone people?

consider this from a christian's point of view.
God made each and every one of us special. would he like us to manipulate the gift of life and "create" people in his image?

then again, consider this from a scientist's point of view.
Once human cloning is legalised, there would be a limitless supply of organs or blood, as they could simply be reproduced. Then a lot of suffering in the world would cease as sick people would be able to get the transplants they needed quickly. would God want this to be the solution that ends the health problems in our world?

or would this be the spreading evil that makes us exploit His creation for a better future?

there are so many things in the world out there that can be discussed; world issues and events do relate to the christian community. how do we answer this? what is our take on this subject? so God gave you the "green-light" to agree with this?

aha. maybe not so blunt. but the point is, express your views if you want to by the tagboard haha. or tell me if you want to post a response up.

things go in circles
and God works in miracles
it would be a debacle
if it weren't for His cycle
(of everlasting love)

GOD'S DAILY PLAN

I really hate this website first i couldn't figure out how to post ans then when i was typing halfway my post mysteriously wiped what the heck.
Anyway, on to the meat of my post. over the course of the last few days i have been considering the fact that the bible can in certain cases sound a tad cult-like.
I say this as i once decided to switch all the "GODS" and"LORDS" in a passage with the word"beezul". I felt the result appeared a bit...weird. Tried it with the brigde booklet thingy we got today and personally, found it abit iffy.
Therefore it is in my opinion that when talking to "pre-Christians" I personally feel we should avoid quoting the bible until their faith can be slightly more grounded.

Alright, I will elaborate further on my next post, this wasn't really very well fleshed out, but I hope u get the idea which I'm driving at, I don't really have enough time today.

Hi everyone,

Haha, were you deceived! This isn't anna :D

Jokes
-grave silence-
I propose we have a corner entitled Tim's Quotes.
Tim's words are soothing to the soul and can even be carried around in your pocket. He is a born comedian and we are happy to note down his pearls of wisdom as inspiration for his adoring fans.
(Haha I beat nick to it!)
QOTD: "Technology park... isn't it made of metal??"

In addition, there's the August 31st Fun Week (the next day) where we'll be going to a PARK! Unique, no. The Korean (or at least we think it is) tech park! And no it is not made solely of metal! We'll be singing acapella so it will be an acoustic worship session. Maybe we should record it for our Bethel Youth Album of the Year. Nah i'm just kidding. :D

September 21st, Social Service. Jasper, Pastor Carol and I are still in the process of planning. Tell us if you have any special requests! I think we might be going to an orphanage. It will be a real eye opener for all of us and another opportunity to share God's undying and everlasting love.

Decemberrrr Combined Youth Camp, new people helping out. From the English side, Keefe, Jingwen, Timothy, Joshua, Hannah. From the Chinese side, Chen En, Yi Wei, Xin Wei, Zen. I think the theme's salt and light! Well please come because it's been rated one of the most successful events organised by the youths (:

Okay, being chased off the com now. Hope my post wasn't too cold and all. See youuuu!

Hey everyone, Im going to share my testimony this Sunday and Im really nervous.
So are the other baptised youths.
This is a prayer request from me.
I hope that you can pray and ask God to give us the courage to share our testimonies.
It's personal and so, sometimes its hard to share.
So yea, it'll be nice if you guys could give us a little boost!
And I hope that through out testimonies, you might consider baptism (:
There's this song that I would like to share with all of you.

The Saviour is Waiting.

The Saviour is waiting to enter your heart,
why dont you let Him come in?
There's nothing in this world to keep you apart,
what is your answer to Him?

Time after time,
He has waited before.
And now, He is waiting again.
To see if you're willing to open the door.
Oh, how He wants to come in.

If you'll take one step toward the Saviour my friend,
You'll find His arms open wide.
Recieve Him and all of your darkness will end,
Within your heart He'll abide.

Time after time,
He has waited before.
And now, He is waiting again.
To see if you're willing to open the door.
Oh, how He wants to come in.

Listen to this, and I hope it will help you make a decision.
Whether now, or later (:

Hi all.
As the chairWOMAN of the youth.
I shall start with the first post.
Its in the middle of the year already.
So definitely there would be PLENTY to blog about.
So reasons for the creation of this blog:

1. To share experiences with others.

2. To update those who have been missing.
3. Prayer requests.
4. Announcements on up-coming events.
5. Uploading of photos.

Bethel Combined Family Camp @ Holiday Inn Batam

This goes out to those who werent around ):
Camp Theme: Becoming a Disciple-Maker.
Throughout the camp we have learnt many important things in becoming a disciple-maker.

Sermons

We learnt that discipleship is a life-long process.
God's Salvation, our Christian Identity and Mission is something that is ONE.
We have to be the salt and light of the world.
And if we are not salty or bright anymore that would be very sad ):
''You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses it's saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on it's stand, And it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds ad praise your Father in heaven."
-Matthew 5:13-16.
So after this we were left with questions to ponder about.
Are we committed disciples?
Or are we just mere followers?
This question made some of us reflect on our purpose of coming to church.
And it made us wonder would we follow Him to the ends of the earth or are we just believing and not doing anything about it?
Why not you reflect upon these questions too!

The second sermon was rather lengthy but the main point is that,

God is the vine and we are the branches.
We're rooted in God (the sturdy vine) and we are like the branches that spread out and make disciples.
Another main point was,
We are IN the world BUT not OF the world.
It means that we do not conform to the ways of this world.
[Anti-conformity!] (:

Youth Forums

This is THE FUN part (:
For the first forum,
we learnt how to spread the gospel in a more creative way.
Rather then just JOHN 3:16.
There are 5 ways to do it:
1. The Fingers (what they each represent)
2. The Three Golden Strings (equality)
3. The Magical Strings (red/blue/white) [OOOOHHH!]
4. The Number Trick Cards (God can read your mind!)
5. Paper Tearing (Chinese Words)
And for the second forum,
we learnt to write our own testimony to share God's goodness in our life.
(:

Other than ALL this,

of course there were fun & games.
Some people went para-sailing, go kart, pool, ping-pong, k-box and many many more.
It was an AWESOME time of fellowship. (:
We also saw that many of us looked out for each other,
which is GOOD ! (:
I think that many of us grew spiritually.
Which is also good because ... its GOOD (:
From the Morning devotions that we had together,
it taught us that we have to first LISTEN (to the Lord's calling)
then FOLLOW (Him)
and finally GUIDE (others).

That's pretty much it.

Pictures would be ^loaded soon (:

Peace OUT ! Yozz :D
